【摘要】:Themeasurementofparticulatematterandcollectedresidueemissionratesisanimportanttestmethodwidelyusedinthepracticeofairpollutioncontrol.Particulatemattermeasurementsaftercontroldevicesarenecessarytodeterminetotalemissionratesintotheatmosphere.5.1.1Thesemeasurements,whenapprovedbyfederalorstateagencies,areoftenrequiredforthepurposeofdeterminingcompliancewithregulationsandstatutes.5.1.2Themeasurementsmadebeforeandaftercontroldevicesareoftennecessarytodemonstrateconformancewithcontractualperformancespecifications.Thecollectedresidueobtainedwiththistestmethodisalsoimportantincharacterizingstackemissions.However,theutilityofthesedataislimitedunlessachemicalanalysisofthecollectedresidueisperformed.Thesemeasurementsalsocanbeusedtocalibratecontinuousparticulateemissionmonitoringsystemsbycorrelatingtheoutputofthemonitoringinstrumentswiththedataobtainedbyusingthistestmethod.5.3.1Thistestmethodisusefulinsuchcorrelationapplicationswhenemissionsarelessthan20mg/m3.5.3.2Thecorrelationtestmethodismostvalidwhenthemonitoringinstrumentationsamplestheparticulatematterunderthesametestconditionsasthistestmethod.1.1Thistestmethodcoversamethodforthemeasurementofparticulatematter(dust)concentrationinemissiongasesintheconcentrationsbelow20mg/m3standardconditions,withspecialemphasisaround5mg/m3.1.2Tomeettherequirementsofthistestmethod,theparticulatesampleisweighedtoaspecifiedlevelofaccuracy.Atlowdustconcentrations,thisisachievedby:1.2.1Exercisingextremecareinweighing,1.2.2Extendingthesamplingtimeatconventionalsamplingrates,or1.2.3Samplingathigherratesatconventionalsamplingtimes(high-volumesampling).1.3ThistestmethoddiffersfromTestMethodD3685/D3685Mbyrequiringthemassmeasurementoffilterblanks,specifyingweighingprocedures,andrequiringmonitoringofthefluegasflowvariabilityoverthetestingperiod.Itrequiresthattheparticulatemattercollectedonthesamplefilterhaveamassatleastfivetimesapositivemassdifferenceonthefilterblank.Highvolumesamplingtechniquesoranextensionofthesamplingtimemaybeemployedtosatisfythisrequirement.1.4Thistestmethodmaybeusedforcalibrationofautomatedmonitoringsystems(AMS).Iftheemissiongascontainsunstable,reactive,orsemi-volatilesubstances,themeasurementwilldependonthefiltrationtemperature,andin-stackmethodsmaybemoreapplicablethanout-stackmethodsforthecalibrationofautomatedmonitoringsystems.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
